A. Art Kaslow DDS
Dr. Kaslow was raised in Solvang in the Santa Ynez Valley and educated in the local schools. He entered the dental program at Creighton University where he graduated with a doctor of dental surgery degree. Arthur and his wife of 26 years, Terri, have 3 children.
Dr. Kaslow has been a coach for AYSO Soccer and Pony League Baseball for many years, helping develop character, discipline and skills in the boys he coached.
He is President (3 years) of Solvang Friendship House (senior assisted living and Alzheimer's care facility) and a member of the board since 1998.
He has been an active member of the morning Solvang Rotary Club since 1990, served as President 1999-2000. He also holds a position on the Elverhoj Museum Board of directors.
He was elected Chief of the Solvang Vikings Charity for the year 2000 and has been a member since 1992. He serves on the Vikings Charity Committee, and was parade marshall of the 4th of July 2003 Solvang parade following his return from his first Army deployment.
Dr. Kaslow has been a member of the U.S. Army Medical Corps Reserves for 25 years and holds the rank of full Colonel. He served his country on active duty during Desert Storm in 1991. He has been activated to serve in Operation Iraqi Freedom 130 days in 2003 and 130 days in 2004 in Kansas and Washington. In 2007 he was deployed to Iraq for 130 days.
He has volunteered at the elementary school he and his children attended, serving on the PTO, supporting the Solvang School Education Foundation and volunteering with the hot lunch and dental screening programs.
In addition to serving his dental patients, Arthur is a fun-loving man as well as compassionate, a dedicated father, husband, and involved citizen of the Santa Ynez Valley.
